Maria Eduria Santos, 80, of Oxnard, passed away on March 2, 2014 in Oxnard.
Maria Eduria Santos was born in Bayambang, Pangasinan to Feliciano delos Santos and Benita Eduria delos Santos on April 17, 1933. She graduated from Bayambang High School. She married Rogelio Santos on September 19, 1959, in Camiling, Tarlac. She worked as a seamstress for eight years while her husband and family were stationed in Hawaii. She also worked for an electronic company named Power One for fifteen years. She was involved in numerous religious and civic organizations such as Legion of Mary, Saint Ezekiel Moreno Guild, Pangasinan Association and FCVCI. Maria Eduria Santos is preceded in death by her father Feliciano delos Santos, mother Benita Eduria delos Santos, brothers Alex Santos, Jessie Santos, Max Santos, Ernie Santos and sisters Ester Santos Baltazar and Gloria Santos.
Maria Eduria Santos is survived by her husband, Rogelio Santos, her daughter, Arlene Santos Leyson, and son-in-law Filomeno Leyson, her son Edgar Santos, and daughter-in-law May Dualan Santos, her sisters Brigida Santos Dacayanan, Felicidad Santos Riparip and Teodora Santos Rosario and her brother Porferio Santos: her numerous nieces and nephews, including her nieces Edith Ramos Laxa and her husband Jun Laxa, Agnes Dacayanan Deweese and her husband Jim Deweese and Tricia Santos, and her newphew, Ulysses Dacayanan and his wife Vangie Dacayanan; her grandchildren Nyle Leyson, Andre Leyson, Jacob Laxa, Candice Laxa McInness, Robert McInness, Kailey Deweese, and Angellyn Dacayanan, and her great granddaughter Daughtry Laxa McInness.
Pallbearers will be Noli Leyson, Joel Dualan, Narciso Perio, Danny Victorio, Arnold Armedilla, Bill Solis, Marvin Cagampan, Sam Caguioa and Conrad Caguioa.
The family of Maria Eduria Santos wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Delia Bucao, Nievas Barcena and Liway Torres for their help in caring for our beloved wife and mother. We would also like to extend our thanks to the doctors, caregivers and nurses at Glenwood Care Center and Las Posas Home Health Services, Inc. for their care of our wife and mother. Finally, we would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our family and friends, who supported and comforted us during this difficult time.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6 with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. led by Deacon Ric Copon at Santa Clara Mortuary, 2370 North H St., Oxnard. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Santa Clara Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Eric Crelencia, OAR of Mary Star of the Sea Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santa Clara Mortuary.
