Sister Mary Donnamay (Virginia Therese Weigler), 86, of Thousand Oaks, died Saturday, October 24 in Newbury Park after a brief illness. She was born November 24, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and was a 22-year Ventura County resident, moving here from Los Angeles.

Sister Mary Donnamay was a gifted teacher throughout her entire life, serving in Los Angeles County, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and at St. Mary Magdalen in Camarillo. Sister found great joy in music and shared that gift with the Sisters of Notre Dame community and with others throughout her ministry. Sister enjoyed reading the newspaper from Cleveland and the Ventura Star. She loved people and always wanted to know what was going on in the world around her.

Sister Mary Donnamay is survived by her cousins; Herbert Wachsman, of Lilburn, Georgia and Nan Kelly, of Severna Park, Maryland, and by many other extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Sisters of Notre Dame, 1776 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., also at Sisters of Notre Dame. The Reverend Padraic Loftus, Pastor Emeritus of St. Mel Church, Woodland Hills will officiate. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Simi Valley.
