Matthew Reiser Obituary
Ventura, CA
Matthew Daniel Reiser of Ventura died suddenly, fortified by the Sacraments of the Church, at the age of 37 on the Feast of the Presentation, February 2, 2016.
A California native, Matt grew up in Oxnard, where he graduated from Oxnard High School and then earned his B.A. from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula. In his freshman year of college, he met his future wife, Sharon, to whom he devoted himself for the rest of his life.
Matt was dedicated to his Catholic Faith and to his community, proudly serving as a Knight of Columbus for many years. At the time of his death, he was the Grand Knight of Ventura Council 2498. He also loved his work as a freelance photographer, constantly delighting in the beauty of the world - from the glories of the Grand Canyon to the face of a child at a wedding reception.
He is survived by his beloved and loving family: his wife Sharon; his mother and stepfather Donna and John Amaro of San Pedro; and his father Jim Reiser of Oxnard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel on the campus of Thomas Aquinas College at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 13th. In lieu of flowers, Matt's family requests donations either to Thomas Aquinas College (www.thomasaquinas.edu) or to Saint Benedict Abbey, Still River, MA (www.abbey.org).

Matt was truly one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Smart, kind, great cook and funny. I loved coming home from work and seeing Matt BBQ in the court yard. Matt may Gods love shine on you know and for ever.
