Michael Annan Laubacher (Mike), born Dec. 2, 1950, passed away in his home on on Feb. 21, 2010 with his wife, children, sister Nancy, and sister-in-law Linda by his side, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Michael was born in Oxnard, Calif. He was the son of Francis Joseph (Mike) and Marjorie Jean Annan Laubacher, whom preceded him in death. Michael attended Santa Clara Elementary and Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, where he excelled in basketball and swimming, he was all CIF in High School; he attended St. Mary's College in Moraga, where in 1973 he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. In 1973 Michael met and fell in love with Doris Flores Crowson.
They married in 1977 and made their home in Firebaugh, where in 1984 they started Mike Laubacher Transportation Company and Incorporated AG Naturally in 2000. Michael was an astute business man with a tremendous work ethnic. He was a man of integrity, deeply generous, and genuinely compassionate. Michael was devoted to his family and friends.
He cherished each friendship from the ones he made in kindergarden through college, from business buddies to the people he met on the green. Although there will be a permanent emptiness, we have many cherished memories of family times together including our infamous trip to Scotland, "E" Street Easter Bar-B-Ques, back yard 4th of July parties, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, Pismo Beach camping, beach parties, and lots of golf. Michael loved playing golf with friends and family as well as watching almost every sport on his big screen TV.
He was a member of the Firebaugh-Mendota Rotary, the Madera Golf and Country Club, and Firebaugh Service Club a staunch supporter of Firebaugh's PAL (Police Activities League) Program and a true conservative. Michael was a gentle giant that always had a soft spot for children and animals.
Michael is survived by his wife Doris, son Travis and daughter Annan, his sister Jeannie Bowman and her husband Tom, brother Bob Laubacher and his wife Debbie, brother John Laubacher and his wife Julianne, brother Roger Laubacher and his wife Karen, sister Nancy Shughrou and her husband Mike, brother Brian Laubacher and his wife Paige, his uncle Paul and aunt Adria Laubacher, and many many cousins sisters-in-law Jenny, Joyce, Cheryl, Linda, Sharon, Kellee, Michelle, and Rolinda; brothers-in-law Del, Jack, Mike, Jeff, Michael, and Paul he was also the proud uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces/ nephews, and God children.
The ocean was Michael's most favorite place, a place where he had fond memories of his childhood, bodysurfing with his buddies, riding horses bareback, and great times sharing those very same experiences with his family it would only be appropriate to think of him each time you see the Ocean or hear the roar of its waves.
There will be a private family service held in Oxnard. Michael requested no public memorial service, although it was Michael's wish that his friends and family celebrate his life and memory in their own special way

The fondest memories of growing up on F Street was having my cousins just a block away. Mike was so caring and thoughtful, helping his sister Jeannie and I move down to USC and even driving down from Firebaugh to attend my Uncle John's funeral. May I and his family find comfort in his life's work of kindness and an inspiration to copy.

Dear Nancy,
So deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I know how much you adore all your siblings and how difficult this must be. I know that being at his bedside was painful yet very special to you. I know you wouldn't have had it any other way. Although I never knew Mike, I remember very clearly the many times you proudly spoke of him and his family when we were in school together. I also remember looking at that picture of him on the wall in your family's home. My deepest sympathy to you and your entire family.
