Mitchell Larson Obituary

Mitchell Vernon Larson

Thousand Oaks, CA

December 12, 1958- September 9, 2015

Mitchell Vernon Larson, 56, of Thousand Oaks, went home to the Lord with his family by his side on September 9th after a lengthy illness. Mitch was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Vernon and Cathy Larson and moved to Simi Valley when he was two. He was a resident of Ventura County for 54 years.

He was a wonderful father to four children and a loving husband to his wife of 29 years, Michele. Mitch had an easy smile, fun nature and giving spirit as he lived his life fully for Jesus. He loved people; making them laugh, seeing the bright side of every situation and being a friend to all he met. He loved creating beautiful things through construction, gardening and raising his family.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Michele; three sons, Jordan (Brittanie), Seth, Derek; daughter, Alexa; his parents, Vernon and Cathy; brothers, Pat(Shannon), Joe(Amy), Mike(Mitch's twin)(wife Shonda) and sister, Terrie (Randy). He also leaves behind his beautiful granddaughter, Scarlett, numerous nieces and nephews and Michele's side of the family who loved him as their own.

A Memorial Service celebrating Mitch's life will be held at Lighthouse Church, 3353 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park, on Tuesday, September 15th, at 3:00 pm. All are welcome.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rose Family Mortuary and Pierce Brothers Memorial Park.

Terrie, Mike and Larson Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Mitch and I played baseball together in little league in Simi and some pick up basketball games as well. A great guy who will be missed greatly. God bless, Dave

Even though I never got the privilege to know Mitch I did however get the sincere privilege to meet one of his sons,Seth.I moved to California in 2012 not knowing anyone. he was the very first person I met. It was a day I will forever hold onto as it changed my life. I could tell from how sweet, sincere, warm hearted his son Seth is that he had to be just like his father. How passionate his son was about caring for his father it was obvious thats how Mitch was with his family. I will be forever grateful and blessed for crossing paths with their son. I am truly sorry for your familys loss. Your family are and always will be in my thoughts and prayers. always.
