I just learned of your passing and am saddened that we have one less angel on Earth. It has been well over 50 years since I left California, me a new mother and you, expecting your first child. You had decided on her name, Malaika Om, and explained the meaning of that blessed name. You were so excited about being a mother, and you glowed even brighter than ever. I will hold you in my heart always. Rest dear Nancy, but keep a loving eye on us.

I sadly just found out about your passing. I pray that you are at peace and love is surrounding you as all the love and compassion you have given. Strength and perseverance and kindness are how I remember you. Give Naja a hug from me. Rest in power

So very sorry and saddened to learn of Nancy's passing on January 29, 2019.
Whether a loss is unexpected or not, inasmuch as the two are different, it is never a more 'comfortable' journey for loved ones to make and is heartbreaking to experience either way as I have had both.
Nancy Bruner Vereen brought voice to the true meaning of 'Wind Beneath My Wings' as proven throughout her life when tested, with her family and others as well.
IMHO, having seen this first-hand from her most cherished priority, the love of her 4 girls, now grown successful women and her grandchildren, Ajan & Moses's.
Nancy's arm's as well as her genuine empathy for others reached beyond her immediate family as well. She was there for my mom and me when she was undergoing major surgeries and in later years at her passing.
Nancy, besides being proud of being a Ballet Dancer, IMHO, was/is most proud of being a loving mother and grandmother. Nancy's family, her girls were everything to her.
Nancy now has gone on to be with her daughter Naja to once again hold her close to her heart where she always has been.
I sen my heartfelt thoughts, prayers and love to Pasha, Karon, Kabara, Malaika. Benji & Aaron & family as well.
May God hold your family in the Hollow of His Hand at this time of loss.
Kvell with Love,
Kathy Furz & mom in spirit too xxoo
