On Saturday March 29, 2014 a beautiful spirit named Norma Ramos Elizalde fell victim to unsolicited gang violence and was suddenly taken from her family and the community to be with the lord.
Norma was born a twin on February 15, 1975 in Santa Paula, CA and was a lifelong area resident. She Graduated from Santa Paula High School (Class of 1993) and was currently employed by a local optometrist. High School classmates and childhood friends remember her as a kind, sweet person with a huge smile and a beautiful soul. Those who worked with her at Mc Donalds also knew her as our lovely "turtle" that moved at her own pace but still got things done.
After high school, she worked as a medical assistant in Oxnard for many years under Dr. Chang Liao where she met her long time friend Jackie whom she always talked about and always kept in touch. Later, she moved on to attain employment with Ventura Optometric where she was respected as a dedicated employee and highly revered by patients as selfless with a passion for helping.
Norma was one of four children born to Flavio Ramos Sr and late mother Consuelo Ramos whom she dearly missed and has now reunited with in heaven. She was the beloved wife of Jose Elizalde for almost 18 wonderful years and a treasured mother to her sons Jose "Pepe" Jr. and Ricardo "Ricky" Elizalde. Norma will be forever remembered by her twin sister Irma Ramos and her "little brothers" Nicolas Ramos and Flavio "Flop" Ramos who dearly miss her more than words or tears can ever explain. She is also missed and remembered by all her caring relatives: her very special Aunt Tia Pella, loving Uncles Pablo and Paula Luna and Family and Arturo and Beatriz Luna and Family, countless cousins, their family and friends who all were blessed to know her.
Many did not know that Norma Ramos Elizalde was a talented artist who inspired her brother Flavio from a very young age. She had a passion for reading books and listening to audio books, occasionally at the same time! Science Fiction was one of her favorite genres and watching movies with her kids was one of her favorite things to do. Norma touched countless people with her selfless attitude and maintained her trade mark laugh by never complaining and constantly seeing the lighter side of things.
