Wayne Patterson, 74, succumbed to a brief illness on Monday, October 2, 2017, in Ventura, CA. He was born December 7, 1942, in Sumrall, Mississippi, to Sadie and OW Patterson. Wayne lived for a time in Covington, Louisiana, before moving to Ventura, CA. Where he owned and operated Profco Inc for eighteen years, before opening Alliance Drilling Fluids Inc based out of Weatherford, Texas. Retiring in 2009 and returning to Ventura, CA.
Wayne attended the Bible Fellowship Church in Ventura, and he still found time to take part in many organizations related to his work around the oilfield.
Although Wayne was an avid golfer, his favorite pastime was first watching his children's, followed by his grandchildren's at their sporting events.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sherry Patterson of Ventura, CA; son, David (Christy) Patterson of Ventura, CA; daughters, Merodie Gentile of Long Beach, CA, and Melissa Smith of Agoura Hills, CA; grandsons, Tyler, and Jared Patterson of Ventura, CA, and L.T., and Jack Gentile of Long Beach, CA; granddaughters, Sage, and Role Smith of Agoura Hills, CA, and Lauren Patterson of Ventura, CA; brothers, Dr. Michael R. (June) Patterson of Cleveland, MS, and Lanny (Glenda) Patterson of Ocean Springs, MS; and sister, Patricia (Kirk) Wascom of Natchitoches, LA.
Memorial services will held for Wayne on Sunday, October 15, 2017, 1:00 P.M., at the Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston Street, Ventura, CA.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at the Community Memorial Hospital CCU and 6th floor departments for their compassionate and loving care.

Dear Sherry,
I just found out about Wayne. We were both so lucky to meet the love of our lives so young. It's so hard to live without your soul mate but faith that he is with our Lord and your beautiful family will keep you going. Wayne and my Frank were such loving husbands. I say that because I saw the love yall had in high school. It was a strong and lasting love.

I worked with Wayne at Alliance Drilling Fluids, Midland TX. He always made me feel like what I was doing was so important. Wayne you will always be thought of with love, respect & great memories of leaning and kindness. Best Boss Ever!!!

I remember your sharing books with me. Each included your notes on the pages and highlights of what you thought important. What a wonder teacher you were. And now you are sitting beside the greatest teacher. I am happy that you've finally reached the place where all of your questions will be answered. Love you and miss you my friend.
