Robert Loera Franco

Oxnard, CA

Robert Loera Franco, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law was called to be with the Lord on Sunday February 5, 2017 at the age of 65. Robert was born on January 24, 1952 in Oxnard, Ca. where he was a long life resident of Oxnard and was proud to be raised in the Colonia Neighborhood.

He graduated from Channel Islands High School in 1970. He worked as a Foreman for Richview Inc, (CalCel Produce) for 29 years. He was a strong, humble, loving man with a huge heart. He opened our home to anyone in need and made everyone who walked in our home feel like family. He was a devoted Lakers and Dodgers Fan and enjoyed listening to his Oldies and Santana while working on his crossword puzzles, with Halloween being one of his favorite holidays and of course family BBQ's. Unfortunately Robert was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in the early age of 57.

Robert is proceeded in death by his father, Salvador Loera of Oxnard, Mother Susan Lopez Franco of Oxnard, Sisters Sylvia A Munoz of Oxnard and Irene Tucker of Oxnard.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife Nona of 39 years, four children Susan Tapia (Baltazar), Lisa Franco, Nancy Sanchez (Gerardo) and Robert L. Franco, Jr. 10 grandchildren Illianna, Isaiah, Isabella, Sayahna, Shilah, Natalie, Noel, Nicholas, Janesah and Jayden. He also had the honor of raising his Sister-in-law (Carmen Ortiz) and her four daughters Ana, Mary, Gisel and Jessika. Along with numerous nieces and nephews, Brothers and Sisters-in-laws from Oxnard, Fort Worth, TX and Chihuahua Mexico.

Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard. If you can measure a man by the way his children turn out, Mr. Franco was truly great, even though I've only met his daughters Susan and Nancy. They both work as CNAs were I live and when they take care of us, they make us feel like family. They always do their best and treat us with respect and kindness, but mix in plenty of laughs! Susan also goes above and beyond most all CNAs and helps a lucky few of us get out of this joint, whether it be to do a little Christmas shopping or to Dodger Stadium to cheer on the Boys in Blue! And there is no doubt that Mr. Franco's legacy will live on, the way his grandchildren are being raised.

My deepest condolences and best wishes for the entire, extended family.

If you can measure a man by how well his children turn out, Mr. Franco is a great man. Having only met two of his daughters, that's all I need to know because they are two great people, great nurses and great mothers! They always go above and beyond their duties at work, making sure that their people are well taken care of and also jumping in to help other residents and their nurses. Susan also helps a few of us lucky people get out of the Unit and get to the Outlets to shop or to Dodger Stadium to cheer on Big Blue!
Mr. Franco's legacy will continue to live on in his children, his grandchildren and I'm sure his great-grandchildren. My condolences and best wishes go out to his entire extended family.
