1931-2015
As of Saturday, February 7, 2015 Robert (Bob) Littell is "Running Easy" in another world. Being steps ahead as usual, he begins the next journey before his most loved wife Mary; children Karen & Bob, John, Susan & Doug, Diane & Thomas, Paul, and Ann; and grandchildren (who knew him as Bumpa) Raechel & Jonathan, Nathan & Bronwyn, Sarah Jane, Wyatt, Quinton, Colleen, Leah, Maxwell and Samuel. We will never forget his sense of humor, talent for calmly and coolly solving any problem that he came across, and his excellent S.O.S. and Bloody Marys on Christmas mornings.
Robert served his country in Korea, received his Engineering BA from New Mexico State University and his Masters degree from Purdue. A registered Civil Engineer, Geologist, and long time member of CLSA, he operated his own firm in Camarillo for more than 50 years. A pilot, scuba diver, bungee jumper, and skydiver (who preferred his chute to open), Robert was always willing to try anything and everything as long as boiled okra wasn't involved. He was known to start fights with any dining companions who tried to pick up the check, and area busboys will surely miss his generous tips. Robert, for some inexplicable reason, loved picking up and delivering travelers to the airport and undoubtedly appreciates the irony of not being able to shuttle around the family members who have come to town upon hearing of his passing.
Besides being a Freemason and a Shriner, he was, according to the piles of membership cards rubber-banded together and overflowing from a variety of boxes and envelopes, a member of nearly every group and professional association he qualified for. He will be remembered as an extremely generous and civic-minded individual who also never threw anything away.
Instead of a funeral, his family will be sending him off on his next great adventure, February 28, 2015, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, at his office in Camarillo (Sage Consultants, Inc., 1978 Ventura Blvd., LAT 37?13'00"N; LONG 119?02'40"W; Elev. 55.438m) with lots of laughter and our memories of what a fantastic man he was.
For those who would like, donations can be made to the Fisher House (888-294-8560; fisherhouse.org). Those who remember Robert are asked to do something unexpected and kind in his memory, just like he would often do.

Bob was one, whom God broke the mold with. Luckily, he liked me. There are few people in this world who change how you look at life. Bob was that, for me. At a time when things were not going real well in my life (Think Great Recession), he provided a lifeline. I will always remember the Truck rides to the Boeing site, and the subjects and insight he shared with me, learned in a life "Well Lived".
God's speed Bob.
It was an honor to know you.

To my favorite boss of all time and my longest employer ever (6+ years). He always said I could have my job back and every visit throughout the years he always reminded of that Not only my favorite boss but dearest supporter always. My love to Mary and family and I will definitely be there on the 28th. Much love, Karen Rider
