2010
(1930 - 2010) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Elmore on Oct. 17, 2010. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday evening after years of suffering from Parkinson's disease.
She was born in Wichita, Kan., where she grew up with her three siblings. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Margaret. She is survived by her sister, Caroline, and brother, Bud, who remain in Kansas. After marriage to Robert Elmore, she eventually ended up in Camarillo where she raised her three children, Rob (Dana), Laurie Newcomb (Joel), and Bruce. She also has two grandchildren, Wesley and Stephanie.
Ruth was a homemaker most of her life and was a dedicated mother and wife. She was also very dedicated to her church, Evangelical Free. Although she was no longer able to attend services, she read her Bible daily. One of her favorite verses was John 14. Her kitchen was adorned with the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace on the wallpaper. She also enjoyed reading old hymns for comfort. Ruth had many 'golden' years traveling with her husband, Rob. Many of their adventures were spent on canal boats in Europe. Often they were accompanied by family and friends. We all know she is in a better place and this brings peace to those who loved her.
Internment services are to be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 at Conejo Mountain in Camarillo. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Camarillo.

Dear Robert & Family.
We were so sorry to read of Ruth's passing, yet know she's enjoying being with her Lord. She was always such a happy, friendly lady. Your friendship during our years at Pleasant Valley Baptist church will always remain in our memories.
