Vivian Lynn Bell Goth, 68, passed away on August 12, 2015 in San Diego, CA after fighting a courageous battle with ALS.

Vivian was born on March 14, 1947 to Richard and Martha Bell. While Richard Bell was active military, Vivian and the family lived around the country and the world. Mr. Bell retired to Norman, Oklahoma, where Vivian attended school, graduating from Norman High School in 1965.

Vivian attended the University of Oklahoma, receiving a degree in English. While in college, she was active in the Kappa Delta sorority, and while participating in functions, met her future husband, Mike Goth. Mike and Vivian were married June 6, 1969, immediately after both graduated from OU. Their honeymoon was a trip to Ventura, Ca for Mike to interview for a job. The couple made their home in Ventura, and returned to Oklahoma only to visit. In 1973 Vivian and Mike had their first child, Mike Jr and in 1976 their daughter Rene Lynn was born.

Vivian worked for the Ventura County Sheriff's office before entering the banking business. She provided wonderful customer support during her 30 years in the banking business, retiring in 2006. After the sudden death of Mike in a car accident in 2006, Vivian worked part-time for the Oxnard Police Department. She continued this position until her ALS progressed and she was unable to continue.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Martha Bell; her in-laws Pat and Helen Goth; and her husband Mike.

She is survived by her son Perry Michael Goth Jr., his wife Denise Hamilton and his son Michael Edward; her daughter Rene Lynn Goth Brown, her husband Bodie and their son Dylan; and her brother Paul Albert Bell and his wife Lynda.

As per Vivian's request, there will be no memorial service. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ALS Association.
