Waunda Lepkowski

1928 - 2010

Waunda Viora Lepkowski, age 81, of Simi Valley, passed away Jan. 6, 2010 after a brief illness. She was a very loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Waunda was born in Glendale on Oct. 8, 1928. She was a 20 year resident of Ventura County moving here from Sacramento. Waunda worked for 16 years as an office manager for AT&T Phone Company. She was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church in Medford, Ore. and spent years with the Foothill Farms Baptist Church in Sacramento and Trinity Baptist Church in Simi Valley. She was an active member and sang in the choirs in each of the churches she attended.

Among her community activities, Waunda served as a Y.M.C.A. advisor in Sacramento, was a member of the Simi Civic Chorus and was a swimming judge for the A.A.U. Assoc. She thoroughly enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Waunda is survived by her loving husband, Lucian Lepkowski; daughter, Sheryl Burge (Greg); grandson, Benjamin Hale (Amie); great-grandchildren, Bradley, Grant, Lukas, Mason, Gavin Hale, and last but not least, her grandpets, Buck and Billie Burge. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor James Alley.
