CAROL SOUTHAM

CAROL SOUTHAM June 22, 1930 - April 7, 2024 Carol (Manwaring) Southam, our cherished mother, joined her sweetheart Willis on April 7th, 2024. Her warmth, kindness, positive attitude and smile will be missed. She lived the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was an influencer of good to her children and grandchildren. Carol was born to Elva Merrell and Ashel Manwaring on June 22,1930. She grew up in Naples, Utah and graduated from Uintah High School in 1948. Carol married Willis J Southam in the Salt Lake temple on May 9, 1950. They made their home in Vernal, where they raised their family. Carol is survived by her children: Diane (Mark) Smith of Alberta Canada, Shanna (Glen) Workman of Boise Idaho, Connie Haslem of Vernal, Denna (Mark) Orullian of Taylorsville Utah, Rod (Lori) Southam of Layton Utah, Teresa (Scott) Liebhardt of Vernal; 23 grandchildren (1 deceased), 55 great-grandchildren (2 deceased), and 6 great great-grandchildren. Carol is also survived by three brothers, one sister, their spouses and sister-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband Willis, son Ronald, son-in-law Michael Haslem, a sister, a brother, one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Carol and her husband Willis served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand. They continued their service by serving as temple workers in the Vernal Utah temple. Carol continued as a temple worker after her husband's passing. She also served in multiple church callings throughout her life.
