GERALDINE NIEWOLD Obituary
Born Feb. 11, 1921, in Sycamore, the daughter of George W. and Pearl B. (Thompson) Larson, she married Robert M. Niewold on Aug. 7, 1940, in LaSalle County.
Geri was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Eastern Star. She and her husband owned and operated the Niewold Standard Station in Sycamore for more than 36 years.
She is survived by two children, Robert (Glenda) Niewold of Elburn and Ellen (Charles) Lundberg of Ashburn, Va.; 14 grandchildren, Kristianna (Terrance Quinn) Taylor, Erika (Alan Keith) Kelly, Catherine "Kate" Lundberg, Peter John Lundberg, Caroline "Carrie" Lundberg, Emily (Shane Andrew) Briggs, Elizabeth "Liz" Lundberg, Robert McKay, Jenniffer (Christopher) Porter, Robert Michael Niewold, Geoffrey Niewold, Rachael Niewold, Anna Dru Niewold and William Niewold; and 10 great-grandchildren, Otto Martin, Harrison Quinn, Truman Charles and O'Malley Rae Taylor, Braedon McKay and Murren Kate Kelly, Wyatt Peter Briggs, Lillianna, Brenna and Liam Porter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1988; one brother, George Larson; and one sister, Jeanne Dolder.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 675 S. Fox Ave., Sycamore. Burial will be at the Baker Cemetery in LaSalle County.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Grandma Geri was an amazing women . I will always remember her visiting when i was a young child and bringing a box full of random stuff that us kids would fight over. Even though the stuff she brought wasn't anything super amazing we all wanted it because that stuff was from her. That stuff was grandma. She was a very kind soul & i know that when i am in my darkest hours & feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders that she will be there guiding me back into the light. I love you grandma.

I'm sorry for your loss, Ellen and Rob. Aunt Geri was always loving and friendly. I remember her mostly from visits to the big house on Elm St. - family reunions, Christmas parties, and waiting for rides to high school (thank you, Ellen). She will be missed.

My Aunt Geri was a wonderful gal, full of life and with great spirit. I will miss her and the rest of her great generation. She leaves quite a legacy.
