Celebration of life services for Judith "Judy" Mary Veigel, 81, were held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Homeplace at Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Services of Sallisaw.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1942, in Bristol, Pa. to Frederick John Veigel and Mary Grace Kernen Veigel. She died on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Sallisaw.
She was a graduate of Sallisaw High School and the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in Oklahoma City. She worked at Sallisaw's Sequoyah Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2004. She was also an excellent seamstress.
Survivors are a daughter, Catherine Jean (Groves) Mercer and Robert Mercer; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Ann Veigel Breeden and Jean Barbara Veigel Kostka.
