Sept. 30, 1922 – June 13, 2024
Graveside service for Lillian Lucille New, 101, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Turlock Memorial Park in Turlock, Calif.
Mrs. New was born on Sept. 30, 1922, in Sallisaw and died on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Union City, Calif.
She was a trailblazing rivet inspector during World War II, the owner of Diamond Lil's Truck Stop and a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors are her children, Clarence T. Powell, Lonnie C. Powell, Penny E. Gutierrez, Roger W. Powell and Regina A. New; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronney H. Powell, her devoted husband of 22 years, J.B. New and her seven siblings.
