Funeral services for Selmer I. Morris, 86, of Vian, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Services, Inc.
Mr. Morris was born on April 9, 1939, in Gore, to Edward Morris and Dessie (Powell) Morris. He passed away on Oct. 13, 2025, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He married Ola Mae (Griffith) Morris on April 9, 1959, in Stilwell. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2006.
He worked in the maintenance department at Vian High School for 27 and a half years and prior to that, worked at Hickory Springs in Fort Smith for 10 years.
Survivors are a son, Kenny Morris of Vian; daughter, Glenda Morris of Muskogee; two grandchildren; a brother, Robert Morris of Sallisaw; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert D. Morris and Donald Morris; and three brothers, Eugene Morris, Paul Morris and Jerry Morris.
Viewing will take place on Wednesday from 12 noon to 8 p.m., at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, where the family will greet from 6 to 8 p.m.
