Jo Ann Carpenter

South Bloomingville Jo Ann Carpenter, 87, of South Bloomingville passed away on April 19, 2024. She was born on August 10, 1936 in McArthur to Emmitt and Edna (Jividen) Thompson. She was retired as a Fairfield County Records Clerk. She attended Colrain Methodist Church in Kingston and attended Bible Baptist Church in Lancaster. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Carpenter; her siblings Mack Thompson, Georgene Kemerer and Carol Sue Staten. Jo Ann is survived by daughters Julia (David) Sharp and Karen (Terry) McClaskey; grandchildren Kellie (Bob) Delong, Mandy (Tony) Tallerico, Clayton Sharp, Sarah Shaw, Nicholas (Mariah) Covell, Kimberly (Eric) Holbrook; 13 great grandchildren and by siblings Arthur and Bill Thompson and Libby Enicso. Graveside service will be held in Otterbein Cemetery on May 3, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Heart Association or Bible Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 1395 Duffy Road SE, Lancaster, Ohio, 43130.
