Alpha Jackson Obituary
ALPHA JEWEL (SPENCER) JACKSON, 82, of the Hunts Fork section of Hurley, VA, entered into rest, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Pikeville Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Buchanan County on January 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lydia (May) Spencer. Alpha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted Christian. Her family and her love for the Lord outshined anything in her life. She was a member of Kelsa Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her church, her church family and enjoyed crafting, flowers, gardening, jewelry and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Homer Jackson; Sister: Elsie Mounts; Sons: Alex (Stacey) Jackson, Benjamin (Jacquie) Jackson, Christopher (Lucy) Jackson, Mark (Michelle) Jackson; Daughters: Revonda (Gary) Adkins, Karen (Allen) Lester, Angela (Adam) Knight, Melissa (Allen) Ison; 24-Granchildren and 11-Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Junior Justus.
Friends called at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services for ALPHA JEWEL (SPENCER) JACKSON were conducted Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. with Ronnie Hurley, Ervin Hurley and Gary Adkins officiating, burial followed in the Homer Jackson Cemetery on Hunts Fork, Hurley, VA.
Active Pallbearers were grandsons.
