Kermes Deel Obituary
KERMES DEEL, age 86 of Lovers Gap Road passed away on Sunday March 9, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. Born in Buchanan County, Virginia he was a son of the late Luther and Princie Blankenship Deel. He was a United States Army veteran and was last employed in construction as a heavy equipment
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rusha Fuller, and two brothers, Clinton Deel, and Freddie Deel.
Survivors include one son Barry Deel and two daughters, Sandee Deel and Becki Deel, five sisters, Fay Thacker, Fayger Yates, Wanda Hall, Lorine Owens and Jessie Childress, four brothers, Willard Deel, Clayton Deel, Kenny Deel and Doug Deel and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 12, 2025 at the Blankenship Cemetery, Sunset Hollow, Grundy, Virginia with Elder Terry Hall officiating.
A visitation was held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2025 at Haysi Funeral Home.
