Anthony Angeles Obituary

Anthony Ernest Angeles

Visalia - Anthony Ernest Angeles, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Visalia, CA, and now rests peacefully in Heaven. Tony was born in the Philippines on June 13, l938. When he was 7 years old, he moved to Hawaii and was raised on the island of Kauai by his parents Placido Ferrez Angeles and Teodorica Pacada Angeles who preceded him in death. He graduated and received his teaching credential from Chico State College in 1962. Most of Tony's career was teaching at Redwood High School in Visalia, CA. He loved to teach math and proudly coached Tennis, Wrestling and Girls Basketball bringing many to winning championships including several West Yosemite Leagues. After retiring from 38 years of teaching, he continued to serve as a substitute teacher at many schools throughout Tulare County and continued to officiate many sports throughout California at the amateur and professional levels. Tony loved to cook, travel, and go camping. He was also an avid fisherman, and he was quite the athlete. Clearly, his real passion was for sports; Tennis, Golf (proudly making a hole in one), Football, Wrestling, Basketball, Softball, Boxing and many more. Tony is survived by his loving wife of almost 24 years, Traudell Angeles; his son Ernie Angeles; his daughter, Joni Sheesley; his two step-daughters, Denise and Deborah Ellis; 12 wonderful grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Patricia Angeles; and countless cousins, family and others too numerous to list here but very much loved. Tony's smile, joking and laughter was contagious and will be greatly missed by all. He will forever live in our hearts and minds. The Family will be hosting a Celebration of Tony's Life on Thursday, January 4, at 11:00am at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell, Visalia, CA. Immediately following will be a reception at the Lamp Liter Inn 3300 West Mineral King Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Tony's name to The American Diabetes Association. A memorial tribute may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.

May you always Rest In Peace Mr. Angeles! You will forever be remembered. You were such a great teacher, coach and loving person who saw the best potential in every one. I enjoyed all my years at Redwood high school but some of my favorite times were playing varsity basketball for you Mr. Angeles. God bless you and your entire family. Love and prayers to you all! Tony had a kindred spirit. He was great to work with and bump into because he seemed to really care. May he rest in peace.

Trudell, Tony was a wonderful man and we are so sorry he has had to be in a facility for so long. You have been an angel and you were right there for him. We are sorry he is gone but also praise God for taking him home where he is happy and not limited but well and finally free. We wanted so much to come to the celebration of his life but we leave at 7:30 am on the 4th, to go to the Los Angeles area for a doctor's appointment for Tom. We are with you in prayer as you celebrate Tony and his life. Love, Tom & Judy
