Eleanor Flores Castorena was born in 1934 in Calexico, CA. She passed away May 2, 2016 in Vallejo, CA.
She arrived in Visalia in the summer of 1938, where she was raised here and went to school here. She graduated from high school in 1953. Those who knew her, said she was a very likeable & funny person. She always had nice things to say to anybody and everybody. At home she learned to cook from the best, her mother. She learned to cook like a professional.
After school she went to work for the County of Tulare, then off to get married and off to Vallejo, CA where she worked at the Presidio in San Franscisco. She worked there until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Castorena, son Joe Castorena, Jr., father & mother, Nicolas & Josefa Flores, brothers: Chuck, John, Larry, Edmond, Ambrosio, Norbert, Joe Flores & one sister, Lydia Gomez.
She is survived by four daughters: Leanor Castorena, Lucy Roe, Josie Castorena & Angeie Castorena. Eleana Aguirre, Oracia Lopez, twin brother Ambrosio, Phil & Anita Flores.
Services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 9AM at the Visalia Cemetery.
