Helen Louise (Maley) Holve

Helen Louise (Maley) Holve was born to Harold & Edith Maley on April 16, 1937 in Modesto, CA and went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2017.

She was raised in Modesto and was in the first graduating class of Thomas Downey High. Helen married James H. Holve in 1958 and they were married 58 years after settling in Lindsay. She attended Northwest Christian College, University of Oregon and earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Whittier College and her M.A. in Education-Reading/Language Arts from Fresno Pacific University. She was a retired teacher and reading specialist, spending her entire career at Woodville Elementary.

Helen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church-Lindsay, where she was the organist for many years, PEO, Delta Kappa Gamma, Red Hat Society, wine tasting groups and book clubs. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips both overseas and domestically. She and Jim enjoyed following Dixieland Jazz and wine tasting together.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Holve of Lindsay, children and their spouses, Sheryl & Steve DeWitt of Clovis, Timothy & Teresa Holve of Carlsbad, and Sandra & Patrick O'Meara of Avila Beach and 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Erickson of Columbia City, OR.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 351 E. Hermosa St. with a reception to follow at the Lindsay Wellness Center, 860 Sequoia both in Lindsay.
