Jack Ernest Feher Jack Ernest Feher, passed away Friday December 2, 2011 at the age of 97. He was born June 4, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio to Alex and Goldie Feher. He graduated from Alhambra High School and married his High School sweetheart, Dorothy Gillard on May 10, 1936. Jack and Dorothy celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2011. They moved to Visalia in 1936 along with Alex and Goldie Feher. They purchased the Southern California Edison property on east main and Ben Maddox street for their auto wrecking & salvage business. Jack also operated Stan's Used Cars as a hobby on the same property. The salvage business closed in 1969; he continued his hobby in the used car business until 1998 retiring at the age of 84. Jack served as a member on the Tulare County Grand Jury, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and a 64 year member of the Visalia Elks Lodge #1298. In 2005 Jack and Dorothy moved to Quail Park Retirement Village. Dorothy still resides at Quail Park as her home. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, a daughter Arline Hankins and her husband Rodger, of Whitefish Montana, son Jack Stanley Feher and his wife Arlene of Fresno. Four Grandchildren, Brian Hankins, Susan Carey and husband Geoffrey, Scott Feher, Megan Manker and husband Gary. Five great grandchildren, Grant and Charlotte Carey, Garritt, Ashley, and Amanda Manker. His sister Molly G. Brooks 94 of Spokane Washington, brother Stanley Z. Feher 91 and wife Aini, of Indian Wells California. Sister-in-law Catherine Rohmer of San Gabriel, CA, A niece and six nephews. Jack liked to tell jokes and make people laugh; he always said it is better to laugh than to cry. The family would like to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice, and Loretta, Tony and Brian Costa owners of TLC Assisted Living for seniors and their staff for their wonderful care they provided. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday Dec. 8 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave. Visalia. Services will be graveside 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, Visalia Cemetery, Giddings and Goshen Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that remembrances be made to the California/Hawaii Elks Major Project, 5450 E.
