James Self Obituary

James W. Self, 76, of Visalia passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. James was born in Denver, Colorado on May 15, 1933 and raised in El Reno, Oklahoma. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. James was a Medical Technologist at the Veteran's Hospital in Fresno. He was a huge Oklahoma Sooner Football fan. James enjoyed reading and working on his computer. He loved all animals, spending time with his grand children and spending time with his friends from the VA Hospital. James will be truly missed by family and friends. Condolences may be e-mailed to [email protected] He was preceded in death by wife, Carol Self. He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Self of Visalia and Karolyn & husband Tim Caffee of Visalia; grandchildren, David Bowechop, Jami Bowechop and Tyler Caffee; mother, Eleanor Medill of Colorado; sister: Deanna Mikulas of Colorado; also survived by his beloved dogs, Sheba and Chase. Memorial service Friday, October 23, 2009, 9:00 a.m. at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. Private burial.
