Lloyd J. Massey 82, of Exeter, CA passed away on January 19, 2017. He was born in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, April 5, 1934, to Floyd and Marie Massey (now deceased). Lloyd had lived in California since moving from Oklahoma in 1941. He was a well known and respected musician and played music at numerous events for years in the valley with his band the "Country Cousins."
Lloyd is survived by his wife Betty, and three sisters; Katherine Hayes, Alice Crispin, Janice Matias, and their families eleven nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Phillips and a brother, Leon Massey.
Lloyd was an avid fisherman and could be found at the lake any time he could get away. He enjoyed several hobbies collecting cars, working with wood building tables and clocks which he sold on occasion.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Smith Family Chapel in Exeter. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 25 at Exeter District Cemetery.

Just found this while listening to his LP "Wanderin' Home." I played with Lloyd with his band which included Delores Shaw, Paul Nelson and Jerry Walton. I was only 6 years old at the time but he sure was a fantastic guitar player. Wish I could have seen him once more before he passed. RIP Lloyd

I just found this. I am a grandson of Delores and Ernest Shaw fellow members of the country cousins. My grandmother gave lloyd my grandfather steel guitar. I hope its still around. But I send my condolences to the family. Bruce Shaw. Ernies boy..

Lloyd was like ya father to me I will miss his friendship laughter his stories everything about him.
