Bob, while I never knew your dad personally, I know that he had to be a great man because I see that goodness and greatness in his son!

My greatest memory of Nico will be walking through the cemetery during Memorial and placing flags on the headstones. He shared many stories of days gone by and of family, and he had many stories to share. He was a wise, funny, loving man and he will greatly be missed.
My deepest sympathy to his entire family.

Love, Elizabeth Lasalde-Dodson

I was saddened when I read about Nico's passing yesterday morning. I'd known Nico through my father and Post 785 from its inception in the 1950's. Condolences to the Pineda family, especially my good friend Bob and his wife Janice. He'll be missed greatly.

It was a blessing and a privilege to have Uncle Nick in my life. I have many fond memories of our family's Stoney Creek camping days along with many other family gatherings. Uncle Nick helped make everything so much fun for everybody. There was a lot of laughter because he loved to laugh and loved to see others happy. He was the go to person when my kids needed to interview a veteran for school reports. Uncle Nick could remember every detail about so many accomplished missions and was very proud to share his knowledge and to show his rightfully earned medals. I beam with so much pride to have known such a great man, a true hero, but more so because Uncle Nick was and will always be such a great uncle. I love you always Uncle Nick and will forever be grateful for having you in my life. I love you and miss you. Thank you Uncle Nick for everything. Love Stella & family
