Oswald C. Moreno Jr. The Holy Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 6:30 PM and Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, February 10 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cutler for Oswald C. Moreno Jr. of Cutler, who passed away February 6, 2012. Interment will follow the Mass at Smith Mountain Cemetery. Ozzie, as he was known to some, was born August 19, 1933 in Marinette, Arizona to Oswald and Rosaura Moreno and after coming to California as a very young child, was raised in Seville and attended Woodlake High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was married to Socorro Esparza August 2, 1958 in Cutler. Ozzie worked as a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for some 30 years and enjoyed a sports, especially basketball (go Lakers). He also enjoyed dancing with his wife and spending time with his family. "Valito" as he was known to very close family and friends, was preceded in death by a son Robert Moreno; daughters Veronica Vaca and Lupe Gonzalez; his brothers Raymond Moreno and Felix Moreno and a sister Irene Sosaya. He is survived by his wife Socorro Moreno of Cutler; his children Gerard Moreno, Florence Moreno and Fabian Moreno; a brother Rudy Moreno of Orosi and a sister Carmen Payan of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. Mary's church from 4:30 to service time. Webb Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
