Colleen Murphy Obituary
Enfield, NH - Colleen Rose Murphy, 68, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center at DHMC in Lebanon, NH, with her beloved sister Caroline by her side.
Colleen was born July 7, 1954, in Rutland, VT, to parents Richard and Ara (McPike) Murphy. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1972 and began working for Dartmouth College, from which she retired as an administrative assistant in 2020.
Colleen found great joy in her passion for animals. She adored her dog Otis, Duchess the cat, and many other pets throughout her life. She had a special connection to the bears, deer and other creatures that appeared in her yard, to the seagulls on the shore, the whales she saw on trips off the New England coast, and the giraffes and other animals featured on her favorite zoo-cams.
A woman of deep faith, Colleen belonged to Our Lady of LaSalette Shrine Parish in Enfield, NH. Her mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there on Thursday, July 6th, at 10 a.m. Burial near her parents will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetary in White River Junction, VT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Food for the Poor (foodforthepoor.org). Condolences may be expressed at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.

I have fond memories of Colleen from my years in the Student Life Office at Dartmouth. She always had a smile and time to talk "animals". I'm so sorry for your loss.

Colleen was a sweet, loving shy person. I knew her from church and from Bible study at LaSalette. I first met her at Fr. Joe Ross' Bible study when it was held in the evening. Then we would talk usually about her German shepherd after Mass. She was so shy I would have to try to catch up with her after Mass before she was gone. Then everything changed with the Covid emergency. I lost track of Colleen. I repeatedly asked some people at Mass how she was doing. Nobody knew. Although we did not have a close relationship, I am very saddened that she is out of my life. Caroline, I am very sorry for your loss.
