Cynthia Ann Baldwin
Sharon, VT - Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Baldwin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Cindy was born on October 24, 1954, in Peekskill, NY, to Stanley and Ruth (Seymour) Schuka. She grew up in Peekskill, where she met her high school sweetheart, Maynard "Chip" Baldwin Jr., who would become her husband of nearly 52 years. After graduating, Cindy attended the Berkeley-Claremont School in Midtown Manhattan, earning an associate's degree in occupational studies. She worked as an executive secretary at a patent firm in Manhattan before she and Chip moved to Sharon, VT, in 1977 to begin their life in the countryside.
It was in Sharon that Cindy found her true calling- raising her growing family and creating a warm, nurturing home. She dedicated herself fully to being a stay-at-home mother, raising five children with love, patience, and strength. Cindy poured her heart into the daily work of motherhood, whether it was tending to a large vegetable garden, canning and preserving food for the winter, raising cattle, or ensuring her home was filled with warmth, order, and love. She took great pride in her family, and her presence was the steady, loving center of their lives. Later, once her youngest child started school, Cindy returned to the workforce, taking a position at Vermont National Bank in White River Junction. She remained there through its transitions to Chittenden Bank and Peoples United Bank, retiring in 2018.
Faith was an important part of Cindy's life. She was an active and longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hanover, NH, where she served in many roles over the years, including Financial Secretary. Her quiet generosity, reliability, and service were felt throughout the church community.
Cindy leaves behind her devoted husband, Chip Baldwin of Sharon; her five children: Timothy Baldwin (Noemi) of Basalt, CO, parents of Sofi and Cloe; Meredith Brady of Lochbuie, CO, mother of Stella and Scarlett; Gregory Baldwin (Ashley) of Colorado Springs, CO, parents of Barrett and Quincy; Matthew Baldwin (Julie) of Patterson, NY, parents of Josie, Lucille, and Mattis; and Morgan Ogreen (Kyler) of Sharon, VT, parents of Amelia, Gwendolyn, and Hayden. Being "Grammy" to her twelve grandchildren brought her endless joy and fulfillment.
She is also survived by her brother, Stanley Schuka (Carmen) of Little River, SC, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Schuka.
A celebration of life will be held at 11am on October 25th at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hanover, NH, followed by a luncheon reception in Cana Hall. Her ashes will be interred at Pine Hill Cemetery in the Baldwin family plot in Sharon, VT.
