Kendra Glover Obituary

Kendra Glover

Bath, NH - Kendra Balch Glover 71, passed away on January 9, 2025 from complications related to cancer. She waged a courageous battle with breast cancer for over 18 years and refused to give in. Her bravery was an inspiration to the many breast cancer patients/survivors she met through the years.

Kendra was born July 3, 1953 in Hanover NH to James Balch and Elizabeth (Hardtke) Balch. She grew up in Lyme NH and graduated from Hanover High School.

On December 5, 1970 Kendra married John Glover of Hanover and had two children, John Jr. and Cecelia.

Kendra was a talented athlete, animal lover, gardener, mother, and grandmother. She excelled at basketball and softball at Hanover High School and after graduation, coached both at the grade school and high school levels. She continued playing softball and basketball in town leagues too. She also helped create and found the Lyme Athletic Fund to raise money for equipment, uniforms and help families get sporting goods they needed. Kendra was an integral part of the Lyme ski program in the 1980's, teaching lessons, planning events and races.

She was a mother who never missed her kids' sporting events and school ceremonies home or away. She loved her daily walk with the dogs and horseback riding on the trails in rural Lyme. She also was known for her incredible gardens wherever they lived.

Kendra and John embarked on a great adventure after their kids both entered college. They took several months and drove all over the US visiting friends, relatives and taking in the sites. This road trip led them to the southern Mexican town of Puerto Morelos, which they fell in love with and would become their second home.

Kendra began a Real Estate career in the 1980's and continued this path when they returned from their travels and settled in Franconia NH, where she worked as a Broker Agent and made dear friends.

She and John Sr were married for nearly 45 years until his death in 2015. Being a grandmother gave her more joy than anything and she jumped at every opportunity to see her grandchildren. She was a selfless giver and fierce fighter to the end.

She is survived by her son John Glover Jr. of bath NH, daughter Cece of Puerto Morelos Mx, grandchildren Isabel Glover and Grayson Glover, brother Kris Balch, sister-in-law Joanne Balch and niece Anna Balch.

Kendra is predeceased by husband John Glover Sr., father and mother Jim and Betty Balch and brother Kerry Balch.

A ceremony will take place in early April, the date will be announced on social media. For Online condolences please visit www.halefuneralhomes.com

When we think of Kendra all the times spent at softball games, BBQ´s, hanging out at the Stanely´s, playing cards and just enjoying the family time flood our memories. Life moves on and people go in different directions but every time we ran into Kendra it was like yesterday.
Kendra´s love of sports and support all those years ago for the Lyme youth sports programs has grown over the year and still thrives. How fortunate we are to have had LAF started by her and her gang of mothers.
Know we think of her fondly and our condolences go out to her children, Johnny and Cece, grandchildren and other family members. Her spirt carries on in Lyme and in us.

Kendra was a special friend and wonderful neighbor in Bath. She was sweet, caring, always offering to help with yard work and shared her fur baby Molé with us as often as possible.
Our little village will be missing a very special neighbor.

Our beloved sister, sister-in-law and cherished aunt never ceased to amaze us with her courage and unfailing optimism throughout her illness. Although we were separated by distances over the years, Kendra was the impetus that kept our families connected. Whenever we finally were able to meet with John, Johnny, and CeCe, reunions were joyous affairs that will remain in our memories forever.
Love, Kris, Joanne, and Anna Balch

Kendra was always a smiling face in high school, no wonder she was so successful with family, friends and career.
