Lorraine Ellen Cadwell

Vershire, VT - Lorraine "Sis" Ellen Cadwell, of Vershire, Vermont, was called home at the age of 82 on November 29th, 2025. She passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Sis was born on February 27, 1943, in Strafford, Vermont, to Archie Fairbrother and Dorris Dena Perkins.

Sis was a lifelong resident of Vershire and was well known for her homemade donuts, which she lovingly served at town meetings and local events. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. To know her was a blessing. Many in the community knew Sis through her more than 20 years of service as the Town Clerk Assistant, where her kindness and dedication touched countless lives. She was also a longtime member of the Vershire Historical Society and the Corinth Bible Church. In her free time, Sis enjoyed the simple joys of life-spending time with her family, berry picking, and gardening.

Sis is survived by her siblings: Gene Fairbrother (Barbara), Carolyn Whipple (Lance), Fred Davis (Maggie), and her brother Russell Ward. She leaves behind her four sons: Norris Hodge (Kelly), Robert Hodge (Sarah), Johnny Hodge (Stacey), and Louis Cadwell IV. Her grandchildren: Vanessa Pushee, Timothy Hodge (Linsey), Cassidy Hodge, Isabel Cadwell, and Kyler Haddock. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and lifelong friends Arvilla, Rita, and Bonnie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A memorial graveside service and a celebration of life for Lorraine will be held in the Spring of 2026 and announced at a later date.
