Pamela Danielson Obituary

Pamela Lee Danielson

Montpelier, VT — Pamela Lee Danielson, 42, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2022, at Central Vermont Medical Center.

Pam was born on July 26, 1979, in Framingham, MA, and grew up in Monroe, CT. She earned her bachelor's degree in politics from the University of New Hampshire. Following graduation, Pam spent many years as a political campaign staffer and kept her family on their toes with her frequent moves that took her to Little Rock, DC, Des Moines, and back to DC - with many stops in between. Later, her love for animals and children led her back to school where she earned her degree as a veterinary technician and a teaching certificate.

Pam had a big heart - always searching for ways to help others, even when she was struggling herself. Those who know her, know she suffered from major depression for years. Her struggle, like most with mental illness, was brave and courageous. She did not hide these dark places of her life. She shared her struggles in the hopes that others who battled the same demons would feel less lonely and ashamed.

Pam loved reading, Al Gore, dogs, tattoos, My So Called Life, antiques, animal shelters, vegetarians, and democrats. She hated bridges, Trump, bananas, puppy mills, and republicans. Pam was a faithful and loving friend, sister, and daughter. She showed up when it mattered, always had your back, and stood up for you when the need arose.

Pam is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Roland and Doris Danielson, maternal grandparents, Milton and Betty Volk, cousins Jenny and Matt, and her beloved dog Linus. She left behind her parents, Robert and Patricia Danielson, sister Christine, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. She will also be missed by her dogs Rerun and Tula. We will miss her forever.

Family and close friends will gather at a later date in her memory. In place of flowers, the family prefers donations to be sent to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), in Pam's honor.

Today marks the anniversary of the passing of a truly special person - our former neighbor who lived just above us in Montpelier, Vermont. When we moved there from Baltimore during the heart of the pandemic, she welcomed us with open arms. Her kindness, care, and quiet support helped us in ways we´ll never forget.

She had a gentle spirit and a giving heart that made a lasting impact on our lives. Her presence brought comfort during a time of great uncertainty, and her memory continues to bring warmth even in her absence.

You are deeply missed. Thank you for being the kind of neighbor - and person - the world needs more of.

I was one of Pam´s instructors at vet tech school. Pam was a great student, helpful TA, and well-liked by her peers. Pam and I kept in touch since she graduated and I will miss our political rants (I agree with her obit) and our deeper talks about mental health. She was a fighter! She will be missed.

Our family is so sad to hear of Pam´s passing. She taught my granddaughter swim lessons and she would do anything for Miss Pam. It was always a special day when Pam showed up. We hope that she has found peace.

I went to high school with Pam and we were friendly, but over the past ten years or so, we became better friends through FB and messenger. We haven´t seen each other, but we corresponded about many topics in recent years. At one point, I even offered for her to come live with us since she was having trouble finding an apartment! She was just the sweetest woman and dog mom around! Her love for her pets and her various students throughout the years was contagious! You couldn´t help but smile along with her anecdotes and pics! I cannot express enough how sorry I am for her folks and her sister. Please know that many are grieving and praying for your strength and healing at this time. May she Rest In Peace and may you all take some comfort in knowing that your daughter/sister was an outstanding and beautiful woman who will be missed by many. My condolences to all who are hurting right now.

She will always be with you. Words can not describe the enormous loss you, your family, friends and the animals, that were blessed to be cared for and loved by her, are experiencing.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I am thankful that you all acknowledge depression and the struggle with mental illness in general. ad well as the importance to spread awareness and the need for funding and donations.

All My Love,
Rebecca

Christine, you and your family are in my hearts and prayers. And as I stayed up a bit late tonight reading with my sons, I did so thinking about your message of spending time with those we love. Thank you for that.

My husband and I lived below Pamela for the past two years. She was the best neighbor and was always available to offer a kind of word or helping hand. She was such a kind and good person. She will be missed so much.
