Priscilla Eusden Obituary

Priscilla Plumb Eusden

Lebanon, NH - Priscilla Eusden celebrated her 102nd birthday on Halloween with her dear friends and fellow residents of The Woodlands in Lebanon, NH before passing away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by her son and daughter. She and her late husband of 60 years - Ray A. Eusden, Jr - previously resided on King Rd in Etna, NH.

She was born Priscilla Ogden Plumb on October 31, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Ermin F. Plumb and Alma (Ogden) Plumb. She grew up in Streator, Illinois with her older sister Virginia and younger brother Ogden, both of whom pre-deceased Priscilla. She graduated from the Monticello school and matriculated at Wellesley College, class of 1945. Upon earning her degree, she worked as a chemist at Arthur D. Little in Cambridge, MA. Ray and Priscilla met during a European tour for young adults in 1949.

Following their marriage in 1950, the couple settled in North Andover, MA where her husband was a member of the faculty of Brooks School. As a faculty spouse, she served many roles contributing to the lives of the students and later used her ongoing interest in photography to serve as an advisor in audio-visual arts to the student body. During summers, she and her family were active members of an island community on Lake Winnipesaukee, where both she and Ray were avid golfers. She was active in the League of Women Voters throughout her life. Upon Mr. Eusden's retirement from teaching in 1979, Ray and Priscilla moved to Etna and she dove into many activities including serving as a docent at the Hood Museum and teaching literacy courses in the Hanover area. Following retirement, the two of them also took numerous travels abroad. A member of the Hanover Garden Club, Priscilla was an avid gardener throughout her life and most recently lavished her attention on the gardens surrounding her residence. A lifelong lover of the arts, she played the piano for many decades and her children have fond memories of her nightly playing and of Christmas carols accompanied by Ray on his violin. For decades, Priscilla created many beautiful needlepoint items and later in life took up painting.

Her survivors include her son David (Heather) of Hingham,MA; her daughter Suzanne Eusden of Whittier, AK; her grandson Tyler (Melissa) of Wakefield, MA; her granddaughter Alison Kalil (Christopher) of Wilmington, MA; her great-grandchildren Natalie and Wesley; and 7 nieces and nephews (plus their spouses, children and grand-children).

A celebration of Priscilla's life will be held at a future date.
