Ronald "Ron" Weglarz
North Pomfret, VT - Ronald "Ron" Edward Weglarz, 76, died peacefully at his home on Monday, October 16th 2023 surrounded by his family.
He was born June 21, 1947 in Franklin, NH, the son of Walter Weglarz and Eleanor (Gray) Youngman.
Ron and Sally settled in North Pomfret, VT where they built their life and raised their three children surrounded by family. Ron was thoughtful and fiercely protective of his family, especially Sally. Ron could often be found doing something for someone (family, friend or new friend to be), without even being asked, whether it be plowing a driveway, mowing a lawn or sanding a driveway during an ice storm, he could always be found helping someone out. Ron loved music and dancing with Sally and in earlier, healthier years you could find them most weekends at a local dance hall where they would have the entire place in a circle around them as they waltzed or polka'd. Ron absolutely loved being the life of the party and may have embellished stories for the effect of his audience.
Ron truly enjoyed working in the construction business and excelled as a heavy equipment operator. He also loved fishing and hunting with family and friends. During the summer, you could count Ron growing the biggest garden in the neighborhood - filled with every vegetable you could imagine even though he might drop by a local vegetable stand to provide support to a friend and then give it away to someone he thought may enjoy it.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally (DeCoff) Weglarz of North Pomfret, VT, his 3 children; Eric (Sonja) Weglarz of Hartland, VT, Barb (Brian) Disco of Navarre, FL, and Mark (Allison) Weglarz of Quechee, VT, 3 grandchildren; Holly Weglarz (River Merriam), Jackson and Carsyn Weglarz, 10 siblings; Gwendolyn (Ken) Morse, his twin brother Reginald Weglarz, Kenneth (Nancy) Youngman Jr., Gail Scribner, Gary (Jody) Youngman, Terry (Elaine) Youngman, Deborah (Mitchell) Jay, Sharon (Daryl) Hamlett, Michael Youngman and Dale (Tammie) Youngman, sister in law Marilyn Weglarz (Glenn) as well as many other relatives and countless friends. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a brother Glenn Weglarz, Gail's husband Jim Scribner, Reginald's wife Patricia Weglarz, and Michael's wife Brenda Youngman.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening October 20th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT.
