Springfield, VT — Sean Michael Dunton, 32, of Springfield, VT died at Springfield Hospital on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born on October 5, 1989, to Richard G. Dunton and Patricia (LaBounty) Valley. Sean was a talented football player and enjoyed his high school years playing for the Hartford Hurricanes. As an adult, he shared his love of football by teaching his son to play. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and cherished his time in the wilderness, whether it was camping, climbing and cutting trees, or hunting whitetail and fishing in West Fairlee. He was a voracious reader of fantasy, mystery, and action fiction and could hold his own in the kitchen, even writing his own recipe book.

He is survived by his son Sean L. Dunton of Quechee, VT; his mother Patricia Valley of Whiting, VT; his father Richard Dunton of West Fairlee, VT; three brothers Matthew Dunton of East Ryegate, VT, Tyler Dunton and wife Marissa of Quechee, and Richard Barry of Missoula, MT; other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of Sean's life will be held later this summer. Memorial donations to an organization focusing on helping people with addiction is very much appreciated and Knight Funeral Home of White River Junction, VT is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
