Missoula, MT - Timothy Francis Ibey, born on December 15, 1945, in Enfield, NH, left this world on November 5th, 2023. He was the beloved son of Marion and Francis Ibey and shared his childhood with siblings Steve, Denis, David, Doreen, and Gerry. Tim is survived by his three loving children, Ciara, Vernon, and Karen, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as his lovely wife, Verna Ibey.
Timothy was a man who found joy in the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit led him to embrace activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, boating, and golfing. He had a particular affinity for the ocean and any outdoor pursuit that brought him closer to nature.
A proud veteran, Tim served in the United States Army for three years, bravely contributing to the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he lived in Missoula, Montana, before returning to his roots in New Hampshire. Eventually, he settled in Virginia Beach, VA, where he retired and enjoyed the pleasures of deep-sea fishing, year-round golfing, and the absence of snow shovels.
Tim's heart belonged to Verna Ibey, the love of his life, with whom he shared 48 beautiful years. Their journey took them through the highs and lows of life, creating a bond that will endure in the hearts of those who knew them.
Tim's heart belonged not only to his wife but also to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were his world. He cherished the moments spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.
In addition to his love for family, Tim had a special tradition of viewing Christmas lights every year, driving around town on Christmas Eve, and joyfully exclaiming, "Buddy, did you see how beautiful those were, absolutely beautiful!" This tradition reflected his deep appreciation for the simple joys of life and his ability to find beauty in the world around him.
A devoted sports enthusiast, Tim was a passionate supporter of the Red Sox and Patriots. He never missed a Sunday football game and relished bantering with friends who supported opposing teams.
Timothy Ibey was a man who never met a stranger. His warm New England accent, bright smile, crystal blue eyes and infectious belly laugh had the remarkable ability to connect with everyone he encountered. Whether at doctors' offices, shopping centers, or any place he visited, Tim left a lasting impression, making friends easily and leaving behind a trail of cherished memories. As we mourn the loss of Timothy Ibey, let us remember the laughter, the camaraderie, and the love he shared with those around him.
