Gary A. Curtis

Gary Aurele Curtis, age 66, was called home to his heavenly father on October 29, 2022. Beloved husband of Debra, devoted father to Lee (Michelle), James (Katelyn), and Jennifer, and joyful grandfather to Addison, Brody, Grace, Charlie, Cole, Noelle, and Benjamin. Dear brother to Darryl (Amy) Curtis and brother-in-law to Bruce (the late Jacqueline) Schrade, Susan (Frank) Morisette, Cindy Pecoraro, Andrew (Kathy) Marvinetz, and Carol Marvinetz. Cherished uncle, Godfather, and friend. Gary is welcomed by a joyous reunion in heaven with his father Richard, mother Pauline, sister Jacqueline, brother-in-law Dave Pecoraro, and countless treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. Gary began retirement in September 2022, after serving General Dynamics for 43 years as a driver mechanic servicing tanks and other vehicles in America's arsenal of democracy. Gary loved his colleagues and work, which gave him the opportunity to fulfill a dream to travel all over the United States. Gary was a jack-of-all-trades who loved God, Detroit sports, gambling, survivalism, fishing, and tinkering. Most of all, Gary loved his family, to which he spent his entire life supporting, nurturing, coaching, and being an unbreakable pillar of humor, optimism, generosity, grace, mercy, and love. Gary prayed each morning to be a blessing to someone, and as the inspiration, role model, and father-figure he was for so many, the Lord surely answered.
