James Snyder

1938 - 2023

James A. Snyder, age 84, of New Baltimore, passed away on January 19, 2023. He was born on September 25, 1938, in Cleveland Ohio, to the late Ernest and Elizabeth Snyder. James married Nancy A. Elliot who preceded him in death on December 19, 2022. James worked for the City of New Baltimore, where he was the grounds keeper for the Parks and Recreation Department, he was a crossing guard for Anchor Bay Schools, as well as an active member of the Lighthouse Bible Church of New Baltimore, where he was the grounds keeper, trustee and Sunday school teacher. He was a retiree from General Motors. James was a Master Gardener, he enjoyed fishing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. James is survived by his children; Steve (Alicia) Hurshman, Shawn (Cheryl) Snyder, James (Christine) Snyder and Cindy Kellie, grandchildren; Alex Snyder, Kaylee Snyder, Zachary Snyder, Alexis Snyder, Anthony Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Mark Hurshman, Erika Hand, Kevin Hurshman and Phillip Hurshman, great-grandchildren; Ezekiel, Saniya, Olivia and Ethan, along with several nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his son, Scott Hurshman and a sister, Carol Soltis. A Celebration of Life will be held for both James and his wife Nancy at Lighthouse Bible Church at 52260 Washington St., New Baltimore, MI on February 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. https://www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com/
