Tracy Caldwell Obituary

Tracy Caldwell, 64

Tracy Lynn Caldwell, born July 10, 1962 in Madison WI to Lyle and Ollie Caldwell was called home to be with the Lord on February 9th, 2026. Services will be held later this year at a date to be determined.

Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, oldest sister Pat, and some dear friends. She is survived by six of her siblings, Bon, Charlotte, Sherry, Kelly, Terry and Tami. Her three daughters, Lyla, Kasey and Amanda, and her seven grandchildren, Addyson, Riley, Emma, Hazel, Mya, Keira, and Aero.

How do you condense someone's life into just a few lines on a page? The truth is you don't, because you can't. There is no possible way to encompass all that a person was in an announcement, so this will not be an attempt to do that, but a small picture of a big personality, of someone who was loved by many and will be missed. She was a sister, mother, nana, aunt and friend.

Tracy made friends wherever she went. She was outgoing, talkative and didn't know a stranger. She loved a good road trip and if she was in one place too long, she couldn't wait to hit the open road. She lived her life the way she wanted and she died the same. She loved horses, history and coffee, and could come up with a country song for just about every situation. Tracy was living her best life the last few years, traveling all over the United States, meeting new people, seeing old friends and writing about her adventures.

My mom was a great storyteller. I can picture her life as a child, teen, and young adult because of her ability to narrate what was in the back of her mind. She enjoyed sharing those stories and reliving them. She continued sharing her stories over the years to anyone who wanted to hear and was writing about her life in journals, until the day she died.

She didn't get to write the chapter that came next, but I can imagine that what she has experienced since seeing her Savior face to face is far better than any story any of us could dream. She has stood in the presence of God, the scroll of her life has been read, and Jesus stepped forward to say she is His. Her burdens have been laid down, her slate wiped clean, and will sing praises to the Lord forevermore.
