Mamie "Louise" Dodson
Victorville - Mamie "Louise" Dodson passed away on May 20, 2021 and has gone to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 96. Louise (as she was always called) was born March 10, 1925 in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mamie Bivins, her husband of 65 years, Buford Dodson, her son Michael Dodson and her daughter Nancy Allison. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Reid and husband Tom, son Dennis Dodson and wife Joan, daughter Alice Cornwell and sister Betty Boston and husband Harry. She had 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She moved with her family to Michigan at the age of 16 and met and married the love of her life, Buford. They had 5 children and moved to California in the 1970's. She also lived in Arizona for several years. She worked on the assembly line during WWII and was also a beautician and real estate agent during her working years as well as a homemaker. She was talented with a great singing voice and was a member of the Melody Makers in Hesperia, CA and enjoyed singing in talent shows and karaoke. She was a member of the Leasure League in Hesperia. She was also a talented artist and painted beautiful oil paintings. She loved to be active and explore her world. She had a sharp mind and was on Facebook and her I-Pad until her passing. She loved her family and especially enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving dinner each year. We will miss her beautiful smile and personality. We all love you and know that you are in a better place with the Lord Jesus our Savior. The funeral services will be at Victor Valley Mortuary in Victorville, CA on June 12, 2021. The viewing will be at 11AM and the service at 12 noon.
