Ruth Kessler

Ruth V. Kessler, 80, died Nov. 29, 2002, at Desert Valley Hospital. Born in Irving, Ill., she lived in Apple Valley for 11 years. Before she was married, she worked at the Los Angeles Times for many years. Then she became a homemaker. Later in life, she worked for the Anaheim School District as a teacher's aide for 10 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, and she volunteered at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, in the Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert of Apple Valley; sons Mike of Corona and Robert of Bellevue, Neb.; daughter Carol of Corona; brother William Upchurch of San Juan Capistrano and four grandchildren. Viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at Thomas Miller Mortuary, 1118 E. Sixth St. in Corona, with services immediately following. Burial will be at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary in Apple Valley. Thomas Miller Mortuary is handling arrangements.
