Me Oliver was the first person I met in Robinson in 1963. I enrolled in 7th grade and the first question he asked, was if I could play basketball. When I said no, he told me to tell my Mom I´d be late coming home from school. Sure nuff I stayed and played basketball. He was kind, inspiring and fair to all of us. I know he will be missed by all.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Oliver and his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver were very kind to and supportive of my brother and sister-in-law, Rob and Shelli Sellers, when they moved to Robinson as a young couple with a 1 year old son in 1987. Over the years, the Olivers continued to nurture and show love to Rob and Shelli in the Robinson church of Christ as their family grew to 3 children and moved to The Olivers' neighborhood. The Olivers were always warm and welcoming when my parents, sister, and I would visit. It was very comforting to know The Olivers were just down the road looking after our loved ones and being great examples for them. My husband, Tom, and I will be praying for comfort for Mrs. Oliver and all of Mr. Oliver's family and friends. With love, Sherry Sellers Vinson

Mr Oliver was one of the finest men I´ve ever known. He tried really hard to get us to love geometry, but didn´t quite make it with me, but we tried. My prayers are with his sweet family during this time.

Jackie and family,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. I do remember him and your mom in elementary very well. Not because I was in trouble, but because he made it a point to talk to students.
May God wrap His loving arms around each of you and comfort you all in this very difficult time.
God bless each of you,
Pam Herring Long

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. Me Oliver was one of the finest men I ever knew. He was my first coach at Robinson Jr High and stayed after school to train me. I know he will be missed.
