Carl Wlazlinski Obituary

Carl Wlazlinski Jr.

July 29, 1947 - April 20, 2021

Carl J. Wlazlinski Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N. Robinson Dr. with Pastor Bob Rainey officiating.

Carl J. Wlazlinski Jr. was born 73 years ago in Pittsburg, PA, to Carl J. Wlazlinski Sr. and Betty Joe Chambers, the firstborn of four. He grew up in a military family, traveling the world and when he came of age, he joined the family tradition, and joined the ranks of the US Army as a Military Medic. He has a total combined of 45 years of living the military life, going post to post.

Stationed in Ft Sam Houston, at the age of 23, he met the love of his life and truly his best friend, Alma G. Wlazlinski. A quick courtship of 75 days, a small chapel wedding with their closest friends and family, turned into an incredible life, celebrating 50 years of love and adventures. Carl is survived by his wife; his two children, Andrew S. Wlazlinski and Sarah M. Thompson; and seven grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, Luke, Ryan, Alexander, Isaac and Evelyn. He is also survived by his brothers, Patrick and Michael Wlazlinski.

Carl served a combined 20 years in the military and earned the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star Medal and other various medals. After his years in service, he worked for Civil Service at various locations and ended up in Waco where he and his wife raised their kids. In his free time, Carl enjoyed reading, gardening, grousing at neighbors and most of all time with his family. Through the years, many hours were spent around the kitchen table eating, playing pinochle and dominoes, and solving all the problems in the world. He had the most infectious laugh and was always available to lend an ear and offer some advice.

Carl will be greatly missed.
