Cecil W. Hack

Cecil W. "Benny" Hack of Waco, 89, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. David Story officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Benny was born June 11, 1918, in Edna, Texas. He attended schools in Harlingen, Texas, and married Laura Nell Vencill on Aug. 31, 1944. He served his country in WWII as a soldier in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for Exxon Corporation for 30 years and retired on June 1, 1976. He was a member of Richfield Christian Church. He was preceded in death his son, Benny Glen Hack in 1965 and by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Laura Hack; son, Lynn Hack and wife, Lanelle of Bedford, Texas; daughter, Sharon Moore and husband, Thomas of Waco; granddaughter, Kimberly Hack Stallcup and husband, Richard; grandson, Daniel Lynn Hack; great-granddaughters, Ashleigh, Kayleigh and Carleigh; great-grandson, Cody Stallcup; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Richfield Christian Church, 4201 Cobbs Drive, Waco, TX 76710.
