January 23, 1952 - March 22, 2025

Connie Vinson Suhren, 73, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, after a brief hospitalization. A celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10th at First United Methodist Church in Downtown Dallas.

She was born in Dallas, Texas to Frank and Wilma Vinson and grew up in Waco, Texas. A graduate of La Vega High School, she attended Southwestern University, receiving a bachelors in mathematics and a masters from the University of Texas at Dallas in education. At First United Methodist church of Dallas, she met and married Glen Suhren in 1984. They settled down in Garland, Texas where they had two sons David and Alex.

She was well respected by the kids that she taught, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. Her kindness and compassion were her greatest virtues and they served her well in her years as a teacher. If you met one of her students, they would often speak highly of her and many considered her their favorite teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Glen Suhren of Garland Texas, her two sons David Suhren of Colorado Springs and Alex Suhren of Tulsa Oklahoma, and her brother Jay Vinson of Dallas.

Connie was in my first class as a new math teacher at LaVega High School. She was one of my favorite students. Several years ago she reached out to me via email to update me on her life/family. I have just now seen the news of her recent death. She was a blessing to many people and I'm saddened to hear of her passing. May God continue to comfort and give you peace.
