Doris Goeke Luedke
Apr 21, 1931 - Nov 19, 2025
Doris Goeke Luedke, of Marlin, Texas, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Granny), and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on November 19th, 2025, at the age of 94. A true Southern belle and a devoted Christian woman, she spent her life pouring love into everyone she met. She never knew a stranger, never let anyone go without, and never missed a chance to feed a crowd. If you ever left her home hungry, it was your own fault.
She was born on April 21st, 1931 in Riesel, Texas and spent 18 dedicated years working for Atkins Agency, around 20 years working for Farm Bureau, and spent the early years of her career at the First National Bank where her hard work and joyful spirit touched countless lives. She and her husband Danny ran a pecan business for several years, a venture she cherished. She loved shelling pecans and visiting with their customers. Outside of work, she found joy in cooking, gardening, country music, church, fellowship, and most of all, her family. She married her first love, William "Bill" Goeke, in 1950, and together they raised their two sons. William passed away in August of 2008, and in God's perfect timing she met Danny Luedke in 2009, whom she married and shared 16 wonderful years of companionship, laughter, and devotion.
Doris was the kindest and loving woman-always smiling, always welcoming, and always putting others first. Her faith guided her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, steadfast love and a family who will cherish her memory forever.
She is survived by her loving husband Danny; son, William "Bubba" Goeke, and wife Shirley of Marlin; stepchildren, Larry Luedke and wife Beverly of Belton, John Luedke and wife Lori of Mart, Rhea Ann Spiegel and husband Jamie Pflugerville; grandchildren, Michelle Goeke LeNoir and husband Scott Of Midland, Caleb Goeke of Corpus Christi, Heather Knowles of Bullard, Chase Goeke of Keller, Micah Goeke of Keller, McKenzie Jackson of Keller, several step-grandchildren along with numerous great-grandchildren; and many other family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Mrs. Luedke was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" Goeke; parents, Herman Hugo and Bertie Mae Brown Wornat; son, Michael E. Goeke; grandson Shawn William Dean Goeke; and siblings: Edna White, Mable Ludwig, Ruthie Coble, W.A. "Dick" Wornat, Edward "Cooter" Wornat, and Roy Wornat.
Services will be held on November 25th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward at Grace Lutheran Church for fellowship and to celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift we'll carry forever.
