Evangeline Stephenson

Evangeline "Van" Stephenson, 76, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Mount Olivet Chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at St. Paul Cemetery in Marlin. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Evangeline was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Marlin. She enjoyed playing golf and had served as President of the Lake Country Women's Golf Association and had won the 1980 Club Championship. She was an active member of Lighthouse Fellowship United Methodist Church. Evangeline was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Stephenson; and a sister, Marie Grams. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Stephenson, of Fort Worth; sons, Kenneth Stephenson and wife, Pam, of Killeen, Kevin Stephenson and wife, Ellie, of Highland Village, Keith Stephenson and wife, Tammy, of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Karen Edwards, of Fort Worth; brothers, Ben Rachui, of Florida, Arthur Rachui of Corpus Christi, and Ed Rachui of Round Rock; sister, Edna McCormick of Waco; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
