Florence Schnitzer

Florence Schnitzer, 91, of Waco, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Regent Care Center in Waco. Florence was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 11, 1914, to Viola and Robert Long. In 1952, Florence, her husband, Fred, and her daughter, June, moved to Miami, Fla. She and her husband spent many happy years surrounded by family that eventually expanded to son-in-law Tom; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Florence retired from the Dade County Florida school system after 20 years, and she and Fred followed their family to Houston and then to Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; and Fred, her husband of 69 years. She is survived by her daughter, June Lupfer, and husband, Tom Sr.; grandsons, Tom Lupfer Jr. and wife Laura, Fred Lupfer and wife Linda, and Douglas Lupfer; and great-grandsons, Glenn Lupfer, Adam Lupfer, Jacob Lupfer, and Landon Lupfer. The family is glad to have memories of the many good times Florence shared with all of us during her long life, and is comforted in knowing she has joined her husband in eternal rest.
